Wow, Pre-Adoption Counseling and Matchmaking for dogs … seems like a lot of fuss – and expenditure -  just to pick out a dog or puppy.  Well, maybe it should be.  Think about it this way:  Your new dog may live with you and your family for the next ten to fifteen years!  You wouldn’t hire a babysitter for your children, an employee for your company or accept a roommate without careful screening, why would you bring a dog into your home without the same considerations?  What better investment could you make in the future happiness of your family and new dog?  To learn more about Pre-Adoption and Matchmaking Services, please click here.

Fetch! Selection Assistance Program

Fetch! Program:  Free initial phone consultation, $125 for package, $115 if adopting a shelter or rescue dog.  The Fetch Program is a unique service that incorporates Pre-Adoption elements but has Canid do the ‘paw work’ for you.  We’ll evaluate your lifestyle and preferences, then Canid will locate and screen ten potential dogs for you to choose from.  Choosing a dog is one of the best parts of acquiring a new friend, and you may think that having Canid locate dogs for you to choose from takes all the fun out of it.  Not so!  You still get to choose your dog and actively participate in the process, but Canid narrows the field and makes sure your finalists only include the perfect match for your family.  As we move through the process, we’ll involve you for preliminary approval before progressing with screening.  We also help remove some of the ‘emotional element’, which prevents you from ‘falling in love’, only to discover the dog you’ve become enamored with has health problems, poor genetic background, or temperament issues.  Despite this, Canid also recognizes and respects the special individuals who seek out a dog with problems or that has been labeled ‘unadoptable’.  If you’re a special person seeking a special dog, Canid is happy to assist you to find a dog in need that will best benefit from your help and generous spirit.  The Fetch! Selection Assistance Program can be combined with other plans and packages to complete your new dog or puppy adoption and homecoming.

Dog Friendly Workplace & Community Project

Want to be the coolest, most popular employer or community in town?  Become a pet friendly employer or residential area!  Canid would be happy to teach you how to do this, by showing you how to offer low cost pet daycare,  incorporate animals into your workplace, set up a green space dog park, offer group obedience classes for residents or employees, and many other services that will help your business or community prosper.  The pet industry is one of the fastest growing markets in the world, even during the current economic crisis, and pet owners are increasingly considering dogs and other pets as members of their family.  Let Canid show you how this trend can benefit your business by increasing productivity, attracting and retaining better employees, reducing absenteeism and illness, attracting customers and distinguishing you as a community leader.  For communities or property managers, dog and pet friendly environments have been statistically proven to increase a sense of community, reducing crime and creating greater community investment which results in clean, well cared for, safe, highly desirable neighborhoods filled with vested, long term residents.

Many employers or communities are skeptical that this can be achieved without damage, noise, disruption or in a way that ensures health, safety and sanitation for both animals and humans.  Not true!  Give us a call and schedule a consult to learn more.

A great way for businesses or communities to explore this concept is to offer a group Basic Obedience Class or Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR Course at their location.  There are many options to achieve this, from full or partial corporate sponsorship to discounted group rates, just for employees or open to the public to generate traffic and visitors to your facility or community.   Canid will post any upcoming class or event at your location on our website, as well as handle community service announcements.  Call Canid today to discuss fees and get started!
